Connection modes and regions

Standard mode

ShortNerdCat fetches the current routes, picks a working one, and sends your traffic through the network.

Automatic recovery

If the current route stops working, the app tries to restore the connection or switches to another available route. Network conditions can change quickly, so the app keeps refreshing its route list automatically.

Wildcat mode

Wildcat is for networks with whitelists, where the standard mode cannot connect. Wildcat is a separate app. See WildCat.

Regions

On Windows, Linux and macOS, the Region menu lets you choose a region or leave it on Auto (detect automatically). The regions offered are Russia, Europe, USA, China, Iran, Latin America and Other.

On Android, the regional bypass can be turned off with the setting "Disable regional bypass".
